The Great Snow!

ok so a bit of a blip since the last one was posted but o my how much seems to have happened!

Amy's visit for a start which was magical but alas far too short! We had a quick nip over to Denmark for the day. Although at one point she did suddenly come out with the statement, 'I like Norway anymore!' which i think confused me as much as i think it did herself! (Apparently somone seems to be little lacking their geography knowledge!) So just mention it to her the next you see her and ask her if she liked the trip we had to see the little mermaid in Norway!! :-D She also met Olof while she was here and rode him, fell off and was in a little bit of a temper when i came outside to find her.It didn't help matters that she wouldn't tell me why she suddenly didn't want to talk to me, but finally when we had reached our destination and i was locking up Olof she kicked him and the whole stroy came out! Olof did apologise but their relationship is still a little tempestuous i think!

We have also had some more "classic" Ana moments, the highlight and my personal favourite this week being the one where she set off the alarm. ... It was Swedish class last Tuesday and the Viking had just been teaching us "head, shoulders, knees and toes" (while accompanying us on a MOST amazing miniature guitar, i'll come back to this later!) So the song finished and we alll sat down then the alarms start going, o no thought i it's a fire alarm and we're going to have to go and stand in the cold! But no, the alarms are ringing and then a door at the front of the classroom opens and a little face peers round...now who could it be!?!! None other than the splendid Miss Lopez!! bless her she'd come in the wrong door, which of course was alarmed! Talk about a great entrance, especially as the door was at the front of the classroom!

Now as i said the class started with our wonderful Viking introducing us to the "huvud, axel, kne och to" song, which was simply wonderful in itself, BUT, and here's when it gets FANTASTIC! Not only did he start us off with a rendition sung in a deep, rousing tenor voice he then whipped out this tiny guitar and began to acompany us! It was possibly the funniest thing i have EVER seen, our giant of a Swede playing this tiny, tiny guitar! heheheheeeeeeeeee!! Chin chin took a picture, of which i'm still trying to aquire a copy, which of course as soon as i do i'll post on facebook!

So also this week there's been the great snow, and when i say 'The Great Snow' i mean 'The Great Snow!' Down came the snow on the Wednesday, and well - come down it did! All day and all night! (it was somewhat magical!) However it wasn't really the best conditions to be cycling in and of course Olof and I had another little accident! (this is the 3rd now, but hey, who's counting!) I was trying to cycle up one the hills and honestly didn't realise it was so icy until we began to slip and slide all over the show. Thinking that this wasn't a good sign i tried to stop and get off... o no no no that wasn't a good idea!! The ground was so icy that when i put my foot down it just slipped underneath me, so down the hill Olof and i slid until we came to a stop in a sort of pile at the bottom, me completely wrapped around Olof seeing as I hadn't managed to unmount him! And of course as with all these little accidents that we seem to have together, it wasn't in private! And so while i was still a pile on the floor, wrapped around my lovely pink Olof a guy walks up the hill past me and asks if i'm ok...'why yes thank you, i'm fine!' (how embarassing!)

The snow really is somewhat amazing though, i was up and out of the house at 8:15 Thursday morning to take pictures....i was SO excited!!!! Most of the locals i met at that time in the morning did seem to think i was a little crazy but hey, it was beautiful and most magical!! :-) And probably the most ammount of snow i have ever seen! Check out the pics!

The most exhausting part of the week has been the corridor cleaning session i did today that took me about 2hours!!! Our corridor i swear is about 50 metres long so cleanign it is a CHORE and a half! I didn't need to go to the gym todya, i had a work out just cleaning, and i can honestly say i am exhausted!!

So yes that's it from me, until the next time, bidding you a very fond farewell x x

School trip to Copenhagen!

Copenhagen magic! (WITH snow!!)

well, as the title suggests we had a course outing to Copenhagen yesterday and o my the joy!! Day began faaaaaaaar tooo early for comfort - we LEFT university at 8 AM!!! (slight shock to system waking up at 6am!!) Technically the alarm was set for 7 but i couldn't sleep...i was too excited!!

So as i said the coach left at 8, all of us piled on board and most of us asleep again and dribbling before we'd even left Lund! After Ana being rather excited about the thought of going over the bridge to Denmark and telling me to wake her if we did we soon realised that we were in fact taking the ferry (this became apparent only when we realised that a) we had in fact stopped in a queue next to the water and that b) there was a ferry pulling in! o my observant hey!?) It was also at this time that is began to SNOW!! :D :D

The ferry journey passed by in a haze of perfume testing in the duty-free (magic i'm telling you!) and awe at the snow blizzard that was happenning outside! Once we'd landed on the otherside the snow was FANTASTIC!! Just like icing sugar, all nice and fluffy, light and simply beautiful! :D It was at the first port of call (a housing complex designed by Jorn Utzon) was where i made my first ever SNOW ANGEL! hahahaaaaa twas MAGIC fun!! (and it really works...they look like an angel!!) The Spanish chaps and the Brazilian guy were having blast playing with the snow...snow ball flights galore! twas lovely seeing them enjoy themselves so much, twas almost like they were little boys revelling in the first snow!! (ok i know i sounds about 70saying that!) Of course while all this joy was taking place we were also admiring the architecture...hmmm!

Well post snowballs and architecture apreciation back on the bus it was, and once again as soon as we were all sat down the sleepy dribble began once again! The day continued on in this pattern until the light faded and we had the final sleep to get us home (over the bridge this time apparently but it was missed due to sheer exhaustion!)

There was definately more that i was going to say but hey the brain seems to have failed me...i'm sooo sleeeeeepy!!

So that's all from me, ciao de doos x x
